In Memoriam (1982-2023)

Brian A. Braun was an attorney with the firm of Miller, Tracy, Braun, Funk & Miller, Ltd. from 1982 until his death in 2023. He was an attorney on the staff of Illinois Association of School Boards (1977-1983) and a language arts teacher in DuPage County (1969-1977). He was a graduate of the University of Illinois College of Communications (1969) and the DePaul University College of Law (1974).

Brian lectured on school law and labor relations at a number of Illinois colleges and universities, was a member of the Board of Directors of the National Council of School Attorneys (1991-1995), and was a past chairman of the Executive Committee of the Illinois Council of School Attorneys (IASB).

In November, 1996, Brian A. Braun received the Harold P. Seamon Award from IASB for distinguished service to public education. In September of 2023, he was posthumously awarded IASA exemplary service to education award.
