Mandated Reporter Training Now Qualifies as Continuing Education Credit
Illinois Public Act 98-0850 allows the Department of Financial and Professional Regulation to grant continuing education credit for training taken by teachers and other "mandated reporters," individuals whose job requirements include a mandate to report suspicions of child abuse.
Districts frequently have to decide whether a situation warrants a mandated report, and so encouraging or offering this training may reduce liability when the question of whether a mandated report should be made is handled.
